The internet has always been horrible, there's no point in denying that. It gives us the ability to stalk and bully people under a made-up persona, people take this as the assumption they can never be found as the perpetrator.
In 2023 it has just gotten worse, cute relationships are mass-bullied. Love isn't real to my generation (Gen Z) anymore, everyone is just racing to lose their virginity. It has gotten worse as ableism spikes, and jokes made by autistic and other disabled people are quickly turned into insults by the abled bodies.
Anything that becomes a trend is quickly turned to cringe, no trends exist for long so we've all started running back in time to ruin the 2000s and 2010s aesthetic and confuse everyone. It's disgusting, nobody is allowed to be themselves anymore in this dystopia. Empathy is thwarted as we all seek connections instead of individuality, you are not allowed to be proud of being yourself anymore; we lost that power when the alt genre fell.
The best thing people can do now is be themselves and help others find themself.

I'm not the best/nicest person in the world but I am of the mindset that you should just do what makes you happy. Unless you're harming others, of course. That's a totally different story.
But if you're just out here posting things you like or staying in your lane and someone disturbs your peace, do what you have to do. There's always going to be people that dislike or even hate you, whether they have a reason or not. It's best to just keep doing what you're doing/what you love and not let others bring you down

honestly, i agree. the quick connection that social networks provide us ends up creating a kind of "competition" to see who is the best, the coolest, the most popular. not that type of thing didn't already exist, but it's getting worse because people think that they can say anything because they're behind a screen
