Just post whatever you want and experiment with fun layouts, really. You don't HAVE to use your real name but I don't think anyone is gonna be upset if you do lol
As for the popularity, it kinda comes and goes. The website is a few years old now so the initial hype has died down (for now). Top posts don't really matter either; they rarely change lol
