every colin firth movie : part two

ive decided to do updates every 4 movies. ive also made a rank list on my letterboxd which you can find here and im updating it as i go.

as i said in the last post the next movie i was going to watch was Supernova (2020). oh my gooooood it was so sad and slow and beautiful and it was nice to finally see colin in a movie with no comedy. that man plays alot of gay people... and im not complaining he looks very natural kissing other men LOL. i found alot of people in the reviews saying it was flat or boring but i disagree and rated it 4 and 1/2 stars. highest rank so far! OH and colin firth looks really good with a beard?! hopefully more facial hair to come or else ill be disappointed.

to completely change the vibe i watched Fever Pitch (1997). an EXPERIENCE. its labeled as romcom but honestly i dont think it fits the genre? yes its funny yes the two main characters are in a rocky relationship but the movie itself is really about pauls obsession with football and how he reframes the way football fits into his life once he falls in love... i make it sound really deep but its probably because i too dismissed football fans as obsessive hooligans until i realised its ACTUALLY not just about football someone stop me before i type a whole essay about this. not the most quality film but definitely a really good perspective and i enjoyed it. oh also for anyone interested paul is an arsenal fan.

The Accidental Husband (2008). what? what? what? this is one of those films that make you feel nothing absolutley neutral throughout its sooo flat. cheating movie. guys its okay to cheat because sometimes we just get confused as to what we want <3 dont talk about your second thoughts with your fiancee just wait until your wedding day where he is sooo calm and normal about you not wanting to marry him anymore because umm checks notes... he asked to marry you too late? okay...

and the last one for this update, Gambit (2012). i decided to watch it because the description is kind of absurd (something about revenge and a texan rodeo queen) and it was fun! just silly and enjoyable i liked colins character in this, quite a messy man ... yet dedicated to his goal no matter what. trouserless. okay i was gonna say something about his legs and his high calf socks but im not going to so you can just imagine it. idc. cameron diaz looked like she had alotttt of fun with her role too! she freaking fought a lion?!!!!? congratulations to this film for helping me get over my alan rickman aversion he used to unsettle me but now i can just think about him playing lionel and move on.

BONUS: short film Steve (2010) umm not much to say he just wants a cup of tea...

sort of adding a side quest of being able to draw colin firth. so far not too bad actually.
