Minecraft Crunch-Pak Review

Packaging:

Pretty decent, nothing too special. Accurately describes the food inside the package, +1. Clam-shell plastic means it can't be recycled in my area, -1 for that. No food item has too much or too little space; adequate management of resources.

Score: 7.5/10

Food:

  • Cheez-its: Bog standard Cheez-Its, nothing special in terms of Minecraft branding. 8/10
  • 'Cheese' cubes: I put 'cheese' in quotation marks because the cubes are made of american cheese, which isn't exactly my favorite especially when eating it on it's own. Not horrible overall though, decent in terms of american cheese. 5.5/10
  • Apple Slices: They taste fine. First few are normal but after that they start tasting oddly bitter, probably has to do with the chemicals they use in preparing them, might also have to do with shipping or the age of the package. I could buy better apples at the grocery store. 4.5/10
Total score for section: 6/10

Price:

$3 for maybe half an apple, a handful of Cheez-its and a few bits of cheese? Yeah, no thanks. An apple is just about $1 on it's own, with a whole bag being around $4.50. Twice the amount of Cheez-its in this package for less than $1/oz. 31 cents/oz for a block of cheese (of which there is less than 1oz in this package). Why should I buy this? Branding.

Score: 4/10

Overall:

It's a fun novelty item, not much more than that though. You're better off just buying the items separately, especially for the aforementioned price of $3 (not including tax). Buy it for your kids if you don't love them (unless they really want it for some reason), make them something from home if you do. It's not a true scam, but it may as well be

Final Score: 5.8/10
