What confuses me about Christianity

Heyy vert here, today I want to talk about my past incidents with christians.

To start off, I myself am NOT christian nor have ever been so if I have anything wrong here please feel free to tell me in the comments.

I've always thought that Christianity was all about loving eachother since God was a loving God, that's why we humans should try to be like Him. But what I tend to see is that even the most religious Christians are quite on the.. hateful side..

I'm not even talking about the tiktok christians or what not, people that I've talked to online that swear right hand on the bible that they love everyone have the most heated relations with other netizens.

Another thing is that young people on the internet just get sucked into this rabbit hole that is religion, they make it their whole personality and life even.

With all honesty and kindness, go touch grass.

Touching back on the "loving God". I've caught on that Christianity relies a lot on fear, saying that you will go to hell if you simply don't believe in "His way", not very loving is it? And if He is all loving then why is there evil to start off with?

> "Oh it's because He wants to test us"

If He is all knowing then why does He have to test us?

If He knew that Eve was going to eat the apple then why didn't He stop it?

Anyhow, talking about religion isn't really my slice of cake. I just wanted to touch on this since it really confuses me at times.

Bye my lovely netizens, I love you all!!!

hello!

so firstly, God is all loving. the thing about people is, even though we were created in the image of God and should strive to be like him, we will never be able to be as loving or as good as God simply because we are not God.
second, humans have something called free will. it's why we're able to choose if we want to follow/love God, or follow/love something else instead. by eating the apple, Eve chose to turn against God and put her want over God's wants for her.

and there has to be evil because nothing is good without it. without bad, nothing good would seem good, it would be neutral at best. God also gives us free will, and because we aren't perfect and all loving like how God is, we are capable of choosing evil and thereby creating more problems, adding more "bad" to the world.

And when Christians mention one going to hell because they don't follow "God's way", they're a bit misconstrued. hell is complete separation from God in the afterlife, in the same way that heaven is complete closeness with him. it makes sense that those who reject God and do not wish to know him in this life would be separated from him in the next, since for their entire life they chose to be away from God. hell is a continuation of the choice they made on earth. the phrase "following God's way" is very vague, they could be referring to keeping his commandments? in John 14:15, Jesus says "if you love me, keep my commands". here God is literally telling us how to love him. therefore, disobeying or ignoring his commandments are actions that show God that we don't love him.

God gave us commandments so that we can become the best, holiest versions of ourselves. if everyone followed his commandments perfectly (which would be impossible given humanity's imperfect nature), evil would likely cease to exist.

hope this helps! if u have any questions of would like to chat my IMs are always open. have a good day :)

"Religions […] have degenerated. Instead of benefit, they began to cause harm. Cultists perverted the Great Truths taught by the Founders of religions. Three centuries after the departure of the Buddha, the Teaching was filled with religious disputes. Less than a century later, Christianity showed extreme intolerance. The last proclamation of Mohammed began with fanaticism. Religious disputes destroyed the meaning of the teachings. And the priests, and the brahmins, and the clergy - all distorted the cosmic purpose. Superstitious followers, instead of striving for the Common Good, began to protect the Testaments with denials. The result was a destructive formula: “our faith is the best,” or “we are the faithful, they are all infidels.” From here it is one step to the crusades, to the Inquisition and to the bloody seas in the name of Those who condemned the murders. The science of that time did not teach us how to live. It did not protect us from fratricidal wars and did not destroy misanthropy. Material science began to deny everything invisible with the rough eye. The ignorant began to make offensive judgments about everything that was inaccessible to them. Science has allowed itself to stupidly limit and answer about what it does not know. Thus false science hindered the knowledge of the Universe.

The basic properties of human consciousness have remained almost unchanged over the past millennia. The mind went ahead, created miracles of technology, but the human heart froze at the level of the Stone Age - it remained stone.

It is impossible to remain in anger without poisoning the consciousness. […] The thinking inhabitants of the planet did not want to know any responsibility. After all, they were supposed to be the crown of the planet. But instead of precious stones, the crown contained coals."

I was in completely opposite religions to Christianity. God did not condemn me for this. God is not a man. He already has enough love for everyone.
The word religion is translated as "restoration of ties." In our time, religion is worship, compulsion. Imagine my surprise when the prayer rule asks believers to read prayers whenever they want, but I see only a formal reading of the same thing without feelings and desires.
People don't know that God exists anyway, if people wouldn't believe in anything or anyone. Just because you don't follow him doesn't make you undeserving of love. For everything that is alive is holy...
