As a kid I wanted to go to art school, a part of me still does, but for the most part it was beaten out of me. I feel like going against your parents' wishes to do art school is such a fun thing, and yet me? If I go to university for CHEMISTRY I'm going against my mom's wishes. I want to so badly, but she wants me to get a college degree first, and then deal with the rest. I wish she didn't view me as the stupidest person she knows, I wish I were far smarter than I am. I wish I had known what I wanted before recently. In short: my dreams for university are SO boring.
Also: Everyone thinks chemistry is so boring, but it really isn't! It helps us to make sense of a chaotic and intriguing world! We are all made of chemistry and we are all surrounded by it.
I wish I could say "my dream is to learn more about chemistry" without being seen as boring or dumb.

anyone who thinks chemistry is boring hasn't looked deep enough....... real fun stuff goes down when you get up close!! and if that doesn't work, lure them in with the promise of explosions
fr though chemistry is so interesting + one of my favourite subjects, don't let being boring to some people put you off a super cool dream!!!
even just things dissolving is so fucking cool. put salt in a glass of water. slightly too much. some of that salt is turning into saltwater at the same rate some saltwater is turning into salt. THATS SO FUCKIN NEAT?? like it could just stay saltwater and salt but it DOESNT!! ITS SO SIMPLE AND YET?? LIKE. CHEMISTRY EXPLAINS WHY IT DOES THAT!

YEAH IT'S SO COOL hold something charged up to a stream of water and it bends.... magic! no, chemistry!!!!! you can explain that with chemistry!!!!!!!!! and that's fucking cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ooh why are metals hard? chemistry! why are some metals soft? chemistry! what the fuck even is a gas and why are some things gases and some things aren't? chemistry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!! !LITERALLY!!! I also think its so funny that like. TECHNICALLY wood vapour is a thing! that's also chemistry! real basic chemistry!! Like yeah you can just turn that tree into a gas who even CARES!!
