Tyra gawked at the metal weapon lying in front of her. As she turned to look for her brother, a blur zoomed past her.
"Cool..." He said, stretching out the word. Without caution, he bent down and grabbed the chainsaw with both hands.
Rust speckled across the serrated blade, and Tyra came to his side, intrigued. Her eyes traced the machine for a moment before snapping up. The room they were in, if one could call it that, had been taken over by nature. Fauna sprawled across the walls. Shrubs dominated the space. Crickets hopped around from leaf to leaf, searching for substance. Something happened to the wall facing south, as there were a few bricks lining the edge and nothing more.
"Tyra."
"What?" She grunted with a flushed face, still absorbed in their surroundings.
"I think we should take this. Even if it doesn't work, it could be.. I don't know. It feels dumb to just leave it here," Erik responded. He took a few steps to the open wall with the chainsaw in his right hand.
Facing them was an abandoned city. Skyscrapers had collapsed to the ground, surrounded by debris & abandoned cars. Trash littered the streets. After taking everything in, the siblings looked at each other.
"I think we should head back," Tyra stated.
"Well.. what about this?" He pulled the chainsaw back into both hands, a childish grin on his face.
"You're carrying it."
