do you ever make like two lines of a song about some character? and
even though the rest of the song doesn't actually fit them (and really,
those two lines only fit in a very specific interpretation), it becomes the
designated Song About Them?
this happened with
naked in manhatten by chappell roan. "touch me baby, put your lips on
mine. could go to hell but we'll probably be fine." it's awful because i
don't even just think of one character to those lines, but a SHIP.
jonmartin save me...jonmartin... save me jonmartin... SAVE MEEEEE.
it
literally doesn't work in the actual context of the song. i can only
make it about them if i pretend those lines are about them holding each
other in that final moment together of the last episode where they
may-or-may-not-have-died. but i pictured them in that moment Once and now when i listen to
this song on repeat (because it's one of my favorites so ofc i listen to it on repeat)
my tummy hurts.
head in fucking hands.
(it really is such a good song tho. and i do love jonmartin.)
