Windows 11 is a totally unnecessary operating system that shouldn't have existed

(Before I start, I just want you to know that I put a lot of effort into looking for information, I love doing this, but I spend a lot of time researching, searching for information and writing, I don't use AI like others, I write everything from my heart, so please, I would appreciate your Kudos, please share this blog with other people who like computer science and write a nice comment,  That would help me a lot. Thank you)

Today I'm here to talk about something that many people have also talked about, I'm talking about Windows 11, released in 2021, this is the latest operating system released by Microsoft for the Windows family, but version 11 of Windows is totally unnecessary, and here I come to talk about this:

Doing some research I came across something, and it turns out that Microsoft had said that Windows 10 was going to be the last Windows, that is, there was not going to be a next Windows like "Windows 11" and instead they were going to constantly update Windows 10 adding more features and fixing bugs until the end of time. But it seems that Microsoft broke its promise and suddenly one day they showed us Windows 11, an operating system that people really didn't like at all, because almost no one liked the new centered taskbar, its start menu, its simplicity, etc.

Windows 11 finally integrates the fluent design, a design that was already integrated into Windows 10 but that did not mix well with the operating system due to the flat designs typical of Windows 10, this fluent design was not liked by many, but one of the things that almost no one liked was the start menu,  and coincidentally something similar happened with Windows 8, many people started installing third-party programs such as OpenShell to have a different start menu, or Start11 to have a better accommodated start menu. The new start menu eliminates the live tiles that came from Windows 8, a function that in Windows 10 they polished and I think is supremely good, but in Windows 11 they threw the live tiles in the trash and decided to make a more minimalist start. The start menu seems to me a very "generic" start menu, it seems similar to a mobile device design, as if it were the desktop of a cell phone, one thing that I do like is the recommendations part, I find them very useful, but beyond that, it is horrible.

Well, I'm digressing from the topic, I've already used Windows 11, I used it for about 4 months and it seems to me a Windows that doesn't innovate much, it's as if they had taken Windows 10 and put a theme from a generic YouTube tutorial, it's true that it brought good changes such as the tabs in the file explorer,  widgets, the new task manager, Copilot, etc. But beyond that there is not much to talk about, it seems that Windows 11 is getting the better of us, but if we look at the statistics, we can realize that the majority (approximately 80%) is still using Windows 10, and that is that the system requirements are many, Windows 11 has brought many problems, and I think that Windows 11 was totally unnecessary,  nobody needed it, Windows 11 instead of adding, it deleted, what do I mean by this? Well, basically old-fashioned stuff like: moving the taskbar, adding toolbars, switching between merges icons in the Treas bar and more are things that Microsoft has been removing in Windows, maybe to make a "unified" design but really Windows is very customizable, and taking away some of those features that have been around forever is horrible. One of the things I also want to say is that, the removal of the live tiles bothered me a lot, why? Well, because applications like "The weather" had their own live tile, and when you pinned it to the beginning, it was displayed, without having to open the application you could see the weather, the same with the news, you could see the latest news without opening the app, and so with many more apps that had the live tile.

Seriously, Windows 11 shouldn't exist, I don't even know why it exists, I just want to tell you that Windows 10 is really perfect and very soon it will no longer be supported, that worries me and many other people as well. Does this mean that when Windows 10 is no longer supported, we'll have to go to Windows 11? These are questions that don't let me sleep.

Honestly, I hate Windows 11, I currently have third-party apps like Retro Bar, StartAllBack, I use V3 Youtube and I change all those minimalist and simplistic icons for ones that have "flavor" and make me feel something. I completely agree with you, I hate that many technology companies prohibit their consumers from the option to customize. In the past, up to Windows 7 I think, you could customize the UI of the operating system itself, either vanilla (like in Windows XP, where you could change the style of the windows and the taskbar to very cool ones) or with third-party applications or mods. Currently from Windows 8 to Windows 11 they stopped implementing customization, and that pisses me off a lot. I hate the flat design of the taskbar and I hate the style of the windows even more. The same happens with web pages, now YouTube simply has no flavor or personality, before you could feel the 3D of its buttons and customize your own channel. There was no garbage content to catch your attention. The same thing happens with many websites that went from having a single design to a flat, corporate and, in my opinion, dystopian design. I hope those days come back when you could feel the depth of the designs, the transparency of the windows and the excitement of turning on your computer.

The technology industry is the one that listens least to what customers want. When it comes to things that are customisable, people will always, ALWAYS, prefer customisation to the simplistic and generic. It wouldn't be hard for a company like Microsoft to offer customers updated versions of what they like, but they still rather not do it.

I honestly feel that this could be the reason why everyone resorts to fashion when it comes to showing their individuality. We can hardly customise anything nowadays: most of the houses we live in are rented or flats; furniture is literally the simplest and most basic it has ever been; phones all look the same, with slight differences that are not really about the design, as do computers and their software. Not even social media, which began as a means of expression, looks flat and simple today.

I think it's safe to say that Windows 7 was the last good version of Windows (at least in my opinion, of course). It was beautiful and functional at the same time, plus there was no telemetry crap that comes with more modern versions of Windows.
