S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Builds

Game builds are interesting primarily for the cut-out content, of which there were plenty. One has only to recall an interview with the head of the PR department Oleg Yavorsky and several developers from GSC (for example, on the forum Kamrad.ru ); many of the functions they promised were later abolished, and some remained "on paper".

The builds are also of considerable interest to modmakers involved in restoring these features to the original game and add-ons. But for the average player, first of all, this content is of exceptional archaeological value, because many of the builds (especially in the early period) are practically unplayable, unstable, and sometimes represent a non-working set of code and files. However, their main advantage over the final version is the indescribable atmosphere of emptiness and loneliness and beautiful graphics (using minimal computing resources), which, unfortunately, later disappeared from the Shadow of Chernobyl and subsequent games in the series. Strictly speaking, the concept of "builds" should be defined as "compilation of the X-Ray engine", but then the build is considered not only what is known as a "build", but also the final versions of games, patches to them and just binaries, without resources.
