a css basics tutorial will do wonders, i recommend looking at some existing layouts and maybe picking out bits you like
a good website for pretty much everything css: https://www.w3schools.com/css/
and if in doubt someone has probably asked about what you're trying to do before, i get most of my coding knowledge through google search results
