Everyone is Chris Chan

Have you realised that we have become Chris Chan in one way or another?

Everyone in the internet is absorbed in their own bubble of interests, where they are unknowingly more distanced of the physical world than they think

We are age regressing like crazy and nurturing our inner children by self indulging in over consumption

People are so weird with their hyper awareness rn. For example, the other day I saw a reel of a girl showing her micro crocheted boot laces (so cute xoxo), and people were seriously suggesting that she was a white supremacist because the laces were white (referencing the lace code of punks). What?

My friends are weird when they hug me now and say things like "People on Twitter will hate me for saying this..." and then I think "But we are not on Twitter, you are here with me".

I now that escapism is a way for us to avoid our bleak current reality, but the longer we stay in the fantasy, the more we are becoming Chris Chan.

Hopefully, our generation will be able to move on and focus on creating our own amazing solarpunk world where community is the core of everything. But now we are trapped in the cage of nostalgia.

Clarification: I do not use social media as much, only Insta so that I can know what is going with my besties and around my area and I see this becoming more and more common outside.

Me writing this after having a breakdown in the supermarket

It's true, most people have documented everything about themselves. It's just that nobody cares to look as it isn't unusual anymore.
