this is just my perspective of what I've seen so far

Nate Jacobs father is not the villain I thought he would be, like he says himself he wants to protect Nate but does not condone or defend his actions. His comment about admiring his son getting his way out of it is not that of a genuine statement but one that jabs on the idea of Nate getting his way some how through all the obvious lies he had told before blaming it all on Tyler. He knows his son is a bad person but  struggles with the fear and idea that  being secretly queer is what's caused his sons to be the way that they are (not to mention its not as secret as he believes) he's convinced its something he's done and by proxy needs to be reprimanded. This only fuels the need to hold a high status fire, pushing to make Nate look as innocent as possible which is futile none the less. feeling like all of this is because he is having queer meetings. one of which was an underage girl unbeknownst to him. He then begged, did not blame jules or get angry with her but simply beg for her not to use the power she had with the situation they were placed in and makes it clear that he has no further interest in anyway after finding out she was underage. He even goes to delete the video he has which he takes of all his dates  (this is debatbly consensual or not which i can agree is scummy but nothing to compared to the character i thought he would be) and is only unable to because the video is not there. 

I'll be going into season 2 next week and I wonder if my opinion will be changed and or if the situation with Jules blows up for both parties better or worse.
