30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE - DAY 1.

Welcome to Day 1 of the 30 Day Song Challenge!

There, that's the obligatory introduction out of the way...

Now, the first day's category is to pick a song with a colour in the title, and the song I've chosen is Red River Rock by Silicon Teens, the song that is arguably the theme to the 1987 John Hughes film Planes, Trains and Automobiles. 

I utterly adore this film, it's got everything I want from a comedy. It's funny, it's heartwarming, it doesn't pull its punches at all, it has characters that strike the perfect balance between exaggerated and realistic, and, most relevantly, the music is great, even if it's more '80s than Simon le Bon playing on a ZX Spectrum.

If you're particularly unflappable, listen to Red River Rock whilst travelling, and see if your train gets cancelled.
