My thoughts on the 2nd episode of The Amazing Digital Circus

A warning: This was typed on Microsoft Frontpage 2003 website and it is currently 11:31 PM.

While all of my thoughts may not be on this blog, it contains most of what I wanted to say.

You might have heard of a little show called The Amazing Digital Circus.

If you live under a rock, here is a synopsis:
The Amazing Digital Circus is an American independent animated web series created and directed by Gooseworx and produced by Glitch Productions.[1] The series follows a group of humans who attempt to maintain their sanity after becoming trapped inside a circus-themed virtual reality game.

With that out of the way, I wanted to go ahead and give my thoughts about Episode 2 - Candy Carrier Chaos!

READING BEYOND THIS POINT WILL INTRODUCE SPOILERS. IF YOU WISH TO NOT BE SPOILED, STOP READING NOW! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

For starters, the new TADC themed intro is stunning. I ran it through an AI interpolator and it is so buttery smooth. An example is provided below: (you need to change the resolution to at least 720p.)

I had a strong suspicion that Pomni did not abstract. While we never saw Kaufmo, it would be pretty jarring to lose yet another character so early into the series.
funni ragdoll physiscs

While Ragatha is talking to Pomni about what happened "yesterday", I noticed that there were some improvements to the animation style and positioning of camera elements, along with lighting.

In the next scene, we see Caine and Bubble talking about the awesome adventure the crew is going to endure. Which is where one of my favorite parts comes in.
What in the flying fuck did bubble say that to create that long of a censor? I really hope they give us a hint on what the fuck he said bc now I'm curious.

Kinda sucks that Zooble wasn't in this adventure but theres 7 more episodes to go.

Also, I seem to have noticed that Jax's model has either been improved or reworked as there's something different about how he looks and moves. I do remember that Jax was a nightmare to rig but that was obviously fixed before production.

I also love how Ragatha keeps trying to comfort Pomni in an effort to (and this is speculation) try to see that Ragatha isn't offended about Pomni abandoning her while Kaufmo was going apeshit and to ease her into her new life.

At which point Pomni asks if the purpose of the Circus is to LARP (Live Action Role-Play) to Ragatha, and is interrupted by Caine asking what the fuck are they doing just standing there.

Here is one of my favorite frames:

Caine then "smokes" out of a pipe and Bubbles says he's trying to quit. Does this mean Weed and Edibles exist in the TADCCU? (The Amazing Digital Circus Cinematic Universe)

Now we are in the Candy Canyon Kingdom. Not much happens at first but the NPC's are going apeshit and one of them hits Gangle and once again, her happiness is shattered by sheer coincidence.

I now present: God.

God.

 * For legal reasons, this is a joke.

"I'm not a child, you don't have to hype me up." - Pomni to Ragatha, after seeing that the Princess is now friends with the crew.

Now we get to the Rig. The NPC was flattened by it and apparently it is a reference to Mad Max? I have yet to see it so I'm not sure.

I love how Jax despises the horn Caine picked (because he's running this shit) and demands that Gangle drive.

I also love how The Bandits just chill in a spot instead of going to "The Village". Like what? You already got the shit, JUST GO TO UR HOME.
Also why were they trying to cut eggs? and why did one bandit drop one?

Now we switch to inside the cab. I find it interesting how Pomni still looks desheveled while Kinger is staring into space and Jax has a NEED TO KILL.
And yes Gangle, it does violate the Geneva Convention.

Ragatha is still babying Pomni, as if she would actually be useful. Cause tbh she is still trying to accept that this is her new reality now, and trying to stop bandits is not a priority rn.

Here are a few of my favorite frames:

Also they did not censor Pomni saying "Asshole" properly. You can kinda hear it at the end.
I love how the wrong bandits were given their jobs. The short armed one was given the task to capture Pomni while the long noodle boi was given the task to shift the gears.

Also whoever approved the "Submissive and Breedable" joke please give them a raise. I was not expecting to see a joke like that in here. Also Gangle kinda does an UWU.

Also Rubber Chicken physics and Bandit laying on the boss's body <3

Also, Ragatha having a cleaver on her head is a reference to the Casting Video that introduces them. She was introduced first and had a cleaver thrown towards her.

Also... what the fuck did Gangle do with a figurine of Ragatha? I saw a theory of Gangle obsessing over Ragatha, but the horny part of my brain went towards Ragatha in a jar.

I almost died when Kinger threw the Anchor over the cliffside and Jax had the balls to ask "Kinger, is that rope attached to anything?"

"I don't know, let me check. *climbs down the fictitious ladder*"

I also cracked up at how Jax does not obey the laws of Physics and is parented to the Rig.

Also help, the Gmod style ragdoll physics are still here.

Next part is kinda bland for action. Pomni and Gummi Goo fall into OOB (out of bounds) and Gummi Goo realizes his life (just like mine) is all for nothing.

"Poor Pomni" - Ragatha
"POOR POMNI? WHAT ABOUT US?" - Jax

also funni charlie and the chocolate factory reference

Also an important point to bring up:

"Is it really murder if its delicious?"

I believe it is not murder.

Also I think Ragatha is self-concious about her hair as when Jax says something about calling it Licorice, she yells Jax and holds her hair.
I am interested in knowing what The Fudge does in his free time. Although I really hope its not related to the kinks that are, imo, gross. because you know, poop.

Also I need to know how Jax can take things from peoples possession and put them into his hands.
funni Ragatha in bucket bc Kinger

also Pomni helping out Gummi Goo is <3 because she herself is in the same situation as him.
funni car physics

also please release the OST for ep 2 thank you

and GUMMI GOO LOOKS LIKE HE IS HAPPY THAT POMNI IS HIS FRIEND AND WILLING TO HELP THEM ESCAPE bc he looks at pomni for a sec before changing expression and smiling slowly
teapots yum

also i agree Jax, we need VIOLENCE.

also the rigs for the bandits seem to be broken. i notice some errors when they move their lips.
funni kinger in bucket and bandits try to escape

also R.I.P The Fudge :(

funni Kinger pours syrup on himself

and Jax, again, I FEEL YOU MAN I WANTED VIOLENCE.

bandits doing random animations awesome!

im so sorry Jax.

also YAY The Fudge IS NOT DEAD
but sorry NPCs u are dead :(

GUMMI GOO MY BELOVED.
may he rest in confetti.

also SAD TIME BECAUSE Kaufmo FUNERAL.
:(

Jax seems to actually be sad for once, BECAUSE NOT ONLY DOES HE LOOK SAD FOR A SEC OR TWO, HE ISN'T PRESENT IN THE FUNERAL.

I was not present for my Uncle's funeral bc I was going to be a ball of tears if I actually went.

i must know what is inside the box.

ALSO THE PICTURE GANGLE HAS MAKES ME WANT TO CRY.

it is nice tho that Pomni realizes that she isn't going to be alone in the Circus.

THE END.

tbh I was expecting more. like the first episode (yes, first episode bc they are counting the pilot as episode 1) there was a chase scene and Pomni losing her mind going through the doors. questioning her existence and wondering if she will ever escape.
this time, it was just a "bad guy stole something, bring it back" story.

This doesn't mean that I don't like the episode. Despite the story being a bit lackluster imo, it was still a great episode.

Improved animation, rigs, lighting, new characters, new story, and Bubble swearing for longer than before made it fun to watch!

I really like how Pomni is trying to accept her new reality and realizing that she is not going to be alone in the Circus. Despite some hurdles along the way, she will (hopefully) get along with the others.

Jax was more snarky, animated, and "loose" if that makes any sense. Also assertive. I also loved how he gave detailed explanations to what he was going to do.

thats it ok bye
