Where do the cars park now ?

The car park was removed in 1992, some months before the opening of the first subway line, which has a station nearby.

Two underground car parks, that already existed at the time, are available nearby ; but the most popular option remains the subway, which itself has free car parks at end of lines in the suburb.

Does it affected the economy ?

Yeah, it made the place more attractive.

THIS IS CAR-OPPRESSIVE !

Listen Karen. I'm a car enthusiast and I have some news : you DON'T need one ton of metal just to go chiling in a park or visit some shops.

Walking, cycling or even, omg, TAKING THE BUS won't kill you.

What is this place called ?

Daurade Square.

French name : "place de la Daurade"
Occitan name (local language) : "plaça de la Daurada"

Do people have lost their job because of the car park's removal ?

Nope.

Is there a lot of people going to the park ?

Depends when, but mostly yes. Unless it's really a cold rainy day, there's a lot of people going there. Mostly youths and families.

The subway ? Government-owned transportation ? No thanks.

However it's true that the angle is slightly different (seems zoomed a bit in the 1976 version), and that some of the 1976 trees aren't there anymore... but there's more of them nowadays in fact (the 2021 pic was took in winter).
