My reaction to the new my hero academia episode.

Spoilers for season 7 episode 1 of mha and manga chapter 331 and 332. At the end there is a picture with spoilers for season 6.

Also this is my opinion so if you don't agree that's okay, comment below I like seeing other perspectives, just don't be an ass about it.

I don't know everything obviously so if i get something wrong, tell me. I'll fix it.

The Good.

Firstly, I really liked seeing shigaraki's hair in animation. I think he's super hot, so getting to see his hair grown in real time was cool. The animation in general was is so mich better than season 6, which is super annoying like i could've been seeing this from the beginning. At least they are doing it when it matters, I can't wait for more fight scenes. 

The Bad.

Before I begin, I know it's only the first episode so the faults I have may be fixed by the next episode.

I felt that the horikoshi didn't flesh out stars and stripes (aka cathleen bate) he didn't  talk about her backstory that much for me to care about her. I feel if the writing is bad in the manga it's probably not going to.be fixed in the anime, but who knows the animation was way better than season 6 so maybe it will be better. 

Regardless, the only backstory we get of her is that she's american, was saved by rookie all might who inspired her to become a hero, and she has a strong relationship with her "boys" which are just the special air force group that work with her.It's implied that they have known each other for a while. 

I wish they talked more about her relationship with the american government and her quirk/hero status. Her quirk is kept quiet, so in reality the public do not know what her quirk is. Her relationship with the government is also secretive, but still close. It could allude to that she may be used by the government, like hawks and lady nagant. horikoshi could've done something with that. This could be a gigantic stretvh, but even if it's not true I wanted more from her. With this horikoshi could've done a commentary on how hero society, not just one all might created in Japan, but all over the world, use their heroes, ignore the weak, but then ostracise them when they become villian. It would've been more interesting to see. 

Even if he didn't add a more indepth backstory, I wish we saw her in the earlier seasons even if it was in passing, because she just comes out of no where. Like who the freak is this blonde lady from America who knows all might.

Major spoiler for manga chapter 332

She also dies like right after she appears so I didn't care when she did. Supposedly, the no.1 pro hero in America but dies 10 seconds after landing in Japan. Like, okay damn. It's anti climatic because it looks like she can win, or give some damage to shigaraki. Which in all fairness she does, but not enough in my opinion. At least make the fight scene longer or something, wasted character.

The Ugly.

The fucking copy and paste blue sky, I will forever be a hater. Like what the hell is this, why is it sunshine and rainbows but Bakugo is literally dying hello??? Bones I swear, just stop this madness.

Conclusion 

Horikoshi needs to sort out his writing abilities (gege needs it more because istg that man is on drugs). And bones needs to get rid of that sky.
