First Thoughts
I really like the amount of customization even though I'm not comfortable with HTML. Although I'm using this frutiger aero layout now, I'll probably try to make it more personalized in the future.
I noticed sometimes that pages load slowly, I guess it adds to the nostalgia aspect of the site.
Observations
One thing I really don't like is part of the userbase. I understand there's a lot of younger folks and that they want to be able to experience the "nostalgia" but the typing quirks and and scene profiles make it seem more like people are roleplaying rather than being true to themselves. With how heavily you're able to personalize your profile, it seems a bit ironic that so many are choosing to mimic the past rather than actually expressing themselves.
I usually use Twitter or other sites with algorithms and numerous feeds. It inadvertently leads to me reposting and posting a lot. With how the site works, I find myself posting/responding a lot less unless it's more genuine and/or meaningful. I'm really surprised by it but not at all disappointed. I think it's a good shift towards not being so drawn into SNS and doomscrolling.
Although I was able to find a fair few people, it is honestly pretty difficult to find people to actually befriend. Unless I manage to find a blog wedged in between a lot of posts from the younger folks, I had to actively sit and go through the online users to try and find people. It's a bit taxing compared to some of the more popular SNS.

These observations are so thoughtful, I completely agree with everything you've said. I think that (like many) I initially found spacehey to be a fun and intriguing new thing, but similarly found the userbase to largely be acting out various old subcultures than people with genuine profiles. Pure nostalgia can be fun but only for so long... it's not very substantial. That being said I really like your profile and loved reading your blog posts! I think that when you search a little bit more you can find some really really awesome users, so that's what keeps me checking this website every few weeks or so :D Yves comebut soon!!!!

Heya! Welcome to SpaceHey.
I agree. The userbase is all over the place, that's one thing I wish was more like the original MySpace was. But if you know where to look, you'll start finding people to message and share blog posts with. Ignore the large amounts of people (most of whom are presumably quite young kids) who are more used to the angry rant and "callout" culture of the later years of the internet. We can't exactly ban them or anything, so it's best to just pretend they aren't there.
But once you assemble a little group of people you chat to, this platform is great! Be the change you wish to see on SpaceHey! (I can almost guarantee that a lot of the people will be gone from the platform by 2025.)
Apologies for the long rambly comment! You just seem nice!

Hi there! Thank you for the compliment! It's definitely a bit hectic but I am really enjoying the site. I've not become too friendly with anyone yet but I have found a good bunch of users that seem pretty cool!
