so, I was an atheist before converting to Christianity, and now I find some people's reactions weird..
Most people I see irl, on social media etc. have no respect for Christians. For example, i forgot what was the video was abt, but someone in the comment section were talking about how they got 🍇when they were in a catholic church as a kid, and another user replied to that comment with a question saying "Does catholic churches seriously 🍇 kids" and someone replied w a simple "No" answer but other users started a fight saying "yeah, all churches 🍇kids" or "stfu they do 🍇 children, that religion is disgusting" etc.
And do not even make me mention how some people sexualise Christianity, for example, most ppl were trying to cancel a kpop group called NCT js bc they were disrespecting a mosque, but nobody talks about how many cartoons, movies, singers etc. disrespect Christianity by sexualising nun clothing, wearing rosaries as accessories, and even make nsfw movies about nuns etc.
Like, I have never heard anyone complain about someone disrespecting christians, but people act so gingerly towards topics about Islam but disrespectful towards Christians.
Y'all don't realise you all act like the same way homophobics, racists, and sexist ppl act

so true, especially those who sexualize nuns??? tht literally dedicated themselves to Christ and modesty and this is what they do? they did NOT ask for that. the nuns that i met are such sweethearts, put some respect on their name

I think we should respect ALL religions as long as they respect you. As part of the pagan community, I hate the prejudice that people have towards my religion and honestly I don't wish it on anyone, but it is undeniable that some Christians do not respect other religions.
That doesn't mean everyone is this way, but I can understand people's reactions.

"no respect for Christians" BUT also remember that in places such as the usa, Christians are the dominant religion. Christianity is woven into our government. They're a majority, not a minority, and did the suppressing in the past. This makes it easier for people to speak against them.
Just remember when people make comments like that, they're targeting a specific subset of whatever group you're in and not you specifically.
I understand where it comes from, but a lot of the time it can start to morph into generalization, assuming all Christians are like that. And yes, there are a lot of bigoted Christians out there, but sometimes people forget that not all Christians are like that.

THIS. Fighting hate with hate is ineffective. I'm pagan but I have such a deep respect for Christianity when it's done right and not as an excuse to spread hate. I recently got a Bible to study and someday I wanna learn Hebrew to go even deeper in my studies!!!

it’s disgusting what people do when they get their hands on something as important as a religion.
i remember going to a spirit halloween and seeing a “sexy nun” costume. it’s putrid, really. i am not religious myself, but i hold great respect for others who are.
sexualizing religions, especially one as pure as christianity is vile behavior, people should understand that.
also for some reason they r always disrespectful towards Christians, like I've never seen someone sexualise a hijab or wear it like an accessory, then why are crosses and rosaries are bought by ppl who wear it like a jewelry, it is js annoying.
