RANT: The word "cringe"

Does anyone else just have a certain word which they ABSOLUTELY CANNOT tolerate hearing or reading anywhere and get irrationally angry upon hearing or seeing that particular word? Because I do, and for me, it's the word "cringe".

I CAN'T FUCKING STAND THAT WORD AND FIND IT TO BE SO STUPID!!! >:(((

It's a word I first started hearing being used on the internet in stupid 2016 and since then, its usage skyrocketed and quickly infested any conversation and space it could, even in real life. It's one of the things I consider wrong with today's society, and just today's internet culture in general (along with modern mainstream social media and smartphones having such a chokehold on today's world).

I do NOT use that word in my vocabulary UNLESS I'm specifically ranting about it like I am here. Otherwise, I try my best to ignore the fact that some random imbecile came up with such a stupid word (though sadly, my brain seems to focus too well on things that bother me).

This is just a quick personal rant, of course. It's been on my mind for a few days since I've been hearing it quite a lot at school these past few weeks and I just felt like I should get this off of my mind here.

Am I a rageoholic? Probably. But at the same time, one can't deny how absolutely enshittified the modern internet has become within the last decade. As a matter of fact, culture in general has enshittified over the last decade and I'm done with having to hear even people in real life unironically using some stupid gibberish modern slang "words" that seem almost alien to me and being unable to escape from hearing such bullshit. Like, why can't we all collectively just go back to saying "that's hot", "da bomb" and "rawr" to everything and those stupid short form vertical videos not even being a thing and rotting the brains of children and adolecents to mush? Why do we as a society continue to accept this modern day bullshit as the norm when it doesn't have to be like this AT ALL?

Back to the point, I simply can't stand hearing or seeing that word being used everywhere I go at this point and I'm sure I can't be the only one out there who also thinks that word is one of the stupidest words (if not THE stupidest word) out there to have ever been created. >:(

That's the end of this rant. I could've gone much further about how much I HATE modern internet culture and just the modern world itself for that matter, but those are topics for another time.

Also, today, 5/4/2024 marks 1 year since I was debonded and can switch to night only wear for my retainers (previously, I've been wearing them 24/7 except when eating or drinking as well as brushing/flossing my teeth). :)
