This post is a rant. (English is not my first language)
Okay so, what is IB? IB stand for International Bachelliur, and its a program that you can take normally on the last two years of HS (or thats how my school is doing the program).
So what does it have? (I don't know how all the models of IB are taken in other countries but in my school) it is a program where you have to take 6 classes, in which three of them are HL (higher level) and the other three of them are SL (Standard Level). You need to accumulate enough amount of points with the assignments they send you, to pass the IB and get a diploma or smth that officiates that you passed the whole program. You can see this as a very good thing, but for my experience it wasn't.
My school decided that it was a great idea to combine National bachelliur, with the IB and have the students not to choose whether they want to do the program or not. In my school it's obligated for students to go with both, even if its just certifying one of the classes, thye have to do IB, in a way this pulses their reputation as a school by having almost all of their students passing through an international program before graduating. The funny part is that, it really doesn't give any benefits, just something to put on your curriculum.
But it's unfair when you see other schools who also have this demanding program and have their students more time to orginize themselves because they don't have to worry about national subjects, and only have to worry about passing their program.
When this complain is voiced out, the teachers and directors actually turned the blind eye to it, because they say that it will bring benefit to us with the experience. But I don't think that having the stress to pass national subjects alongside the anxitey to write good assignments and pass all the hours they demand on the IB is a good exxperience, you are just making me stress more than necessary.
And the fact that all of the students either have to pass, and in the end and if they don't pass, they will get humiliated bc most of their other friends did pass. People have said and accused the students that didn't pass by saying that "It's their fault to not be prepared for such a demanding program" and I see this so fucking annoying, sometimes students don't have the choice to not do the pogram completely, either their parents tell them that they will do it or they won't get anywher, and this is such a bullshitting lie.
May is when the final exams begins for the IB, and I don't really know if Im gonna reach enogh amount of points to pass the program, but if what other IB students say that this was supposed to be a good experience, then I'm gonna hold accountable that my school has ruined it for me.
