My ultamate throw-my-phone-in-a-lake plan.

alright i love the internet but its going downhill bru its terrible and i don't see how it can get much better at this point. I'm not planning on leaving the internet anytime soon- it's far too interesting and entertaining- but I do have plans to drop my phone. I think phones and phone addiction are a huge problem these days for almost everyone who has one, including myself.

I've tried to mitigate this problem by being on do not distrub every minute and I think this has helped a lot. but i still reach for my phone when my brain wants something to do inbetween classes and I don't like this very much. I've also deleted all my social media, apart from tumblr, discord and spacehey (all are debateably social medias). 

Interestingly, I've found that I reach for my phone wanting something to do and find that I don't have anything to do on there, despite these apps. This is because Tumblr is literally breaking and crumbling as we speak so I can't even get on there half the time, discord during school most of my friends are also doing school, and spacehey mobile there's only bulletins to check. My brain still wants something to do, so I find that I end up opening and closing apps over and over again instead.

I don't want to be stuck in this weird phone loop, but my phone is also a very importat communication tool. I use it mainly to communicate with my friends over discord or text. It would kind of suck to lose that.

Luckily there's a whole population of people who thought the same thing! There are 'dumb' phone or flip phones that you can use to access the internet as you might need to, but are compact, sturdy, and don't have all the little things that smartphones do that make you want to check it. i'm a big fan of the jelly pro.

SO my plan is:

1. throw my phone in a lake. not really ill keep it as a backup but i wont use it as a daily thing

2. switch to a jelly pro phone

3. continue my interneting as normal on my puter
