symbolism in poetry + some little looks

i write a lot of symbolism poetry, sometimes i'll share it with the outside world but i'd mostly rather keep it here in my little digital box. a lot of symbolism i have inmy writing is often like,, dogs or angels or fruit or cannibalism, but ive unfortunately burned all the angel ones. they were all on paper, sob sob

i also like uhhhmmm metaphors or whatever theyre called too, heres an example of what i kinda mean

"fill my ears with your drumming hands

hitting tables, woodpecker knuckles

it'll be only you from now on"

yeah so thats pretty epic i think, thats from a poem about people telling me to SHUT THE FREAK UP and listen to them!!!

another one i used in my poetry is like, with captain hook and that twinkerbell or whatever

"perfect little pixie

locked up, tossed around

drowned.

you still flutter my wayΒ

you still whisper my name

you, your watery eyes

watery soul

you try to be fire.

you aren't light

it's gone.

hate me, just once.

hate me for all i've done."

this!! goodness GRACIOUS mamas. this is kinda like symbolism for how goodness i KNOW im bad but i cant help but adore you because you are so beautiful but also i ruined you!!

okay so this one is about my mom...

"my core beats for you.

will you throw it away

will you hold it up to the sun?

will you plant it

will you watch it grow?

will you watch me grow?"

these aren't the full poems, just snippets of them because i dont want to run into a pole later thinking about this stuff. guilt is harm

here are some that you kind of have to understand from my perspective

"you do NOT understand

you do NOT feel this pain i feel

you do NOT get to tell me to calm down

to lower my voice

to stop my aggravated shaking"

(i miss you quinn)

"like a smoker on his last pack

you poison my lungs

like a dealer with no deals

you knock out my teeth one by one"

my friend syndel actually helped me switch up that last one. we adore syndel

"but tonight

i am disgusted by my rotting hands

tonight i am eating away at my nails

tonight i scream in a language god will not understand"

the last line gets me everytime. i dont even remember what happened in january.

yeah so thats just a quick show of a few poems and symbolism and i think theyre really important!!
