yea, he kinda became what hurt him in the past without really meaning to, this kind of analysis could be applied to a lot of scott pilgrim actually i think it's a lot more interesting than people make it out to be
It’s definitely very interesting because it may be something you don't catch onto at first, the more and more I rewatch the movie or reread the comics i find out more new hidden things within the story
