Journal Entry #105: Hanging on by a Thread - 04/28/24

Sorry for the delay, I was busy last Sunday. I could've written last Saturday but I didn't for some reason?

I only feel like talking about last Sunday when it comes to what happened last week. I went to my first formal event! It was pretty nice, and I helped set up the surprisingly simple event. I talked with a few different people about jobs and school stuff. Toward the end of the event, I talked with the advancement strategist for our student organization. He was unbelievably charming and walked me home after the event. I gave him my number, and we ended up going out together later in the week.

As for this week, I mostly just finished up work. I had exams this past week, which thankfully takes some of the stress away from this week. I didn't do too well on my computing lecture exam, but I did okay on my lab exam, despite a small error. Thankfully the TA can override the auto grader, which can be quite strict. However, it made me feel like my grade wasn't earned. However, I was fighting for my life in that lab exam! On Wednesday, I had my last regular cal II exam. Honestly, I think I could've put in more effort, but I didn't since the lowest exam score gets dropped at the end of the course. I have (roughly) a 74 in the course, meaning I need a fifty-something on the final to pass the class with a C. Since I only have three exams, I should be able to dedicate myself to earning a satisfactory grade.

Wednesday evening, I hung out with the advancement strategist. We walked around a botanical garden and later got ice cream. We talked about a lot of things, including stuff I was shocked to see myself revealing. For example, admitting the fact that I am a little too far in my head. The funny thing about him is that he teased me for liking mint ice cream! Mint ice cream is good, I don't understand how people compare it to mint toothpaste. I use mint toothpaste! I just think it's silly.

I've already started packing everything up since I'm moving out on Friday. I'm so ready to leave. I'm tired of having no privacy, being locked out the bathroom, dealing with fire drills, being woken up by my roommate, the thin walls, being constantly surrounded by people, etc. I wanna go home! But first, I have to deal with my finals.

My finals schedule is a bit better than last semester's. I have a final exam tomorrow, a project due on Wednesday, and then two finals on Thursday. After that I'm through! I hope that this week goes by as fast as lightning.
