Weird Dream #1; Ocean Dad

I have really weird vivid dreams, and I thought it might be fun to write some of them down here!

The Ocean Dad Dream

The dream began with a family, father, mother and two adult children, one son around twenty three and a daughter around eighteen or nineteen. This family lives a perfectly average life.

One day, the dad decides he wants his family to live underwater. The children protest, as the son goes to work on the surface and the daughter doesn't want to leave her friends, but the dad won't budge. He wants the family to live underwater, and that's that.

So they move underwater. They live in a very small, very tight submarine system that uses small pothole windows to keep the water out. Whenever they leave the system to enter the water, they wear very large, heavy, antiquated diving gear. 

The son and daughter hate living underwater. The pothole windows are very flimsy, so water often ends up leaking into the system, meaning all books and electronics get destroyed. The heavy currents often destroy the rudimentary crops the family attempted to plant on the sea floor, and large sea creatures keep knocking into the submarine system and making the whole system shake.

The last straw is when the mother, who has remained very passive throughout the whole dream, miscalculates the strength of an ocean current and ends up impaled against sharp sea rocks.

Losing their mother, the son and daughter refuse to stay in the sea any longer and begin to ascend back to the surface, when the dad stops them. The dad is furious that they want to leave and refuses to let them escape. 

The son and daughter both end up fighting their dad, the son manages to slip past while the dad and daughter fight. The dad loosens the gears on his daughter's scuba gear and shoves her outside, into the water. The water streams through the gaps from the loose gears and begins to fill up her suit, eventually drowning her.

By the time the dad has returned his efforts to catching his remaining child, the son has taken off his heavy diving gear and returned to the surface. 

The dad climbs up to the surface, but despite the heavy diving gear, he runs with an inhuman level of speed and ferocity.

The son looks behind him and is shocked at the expression on his father's face. It is fully animalistic, with no sign of parental love. The son cannot recognise the man chasing him as his father, and the only thing he knows for sure is that the man chasing him will never rest untill he catches and kills him.

As the men run, the street theyre on begins to warp and shift, elongating the path so that every step the son takes is meaningless and brings him closer to his father.

The son thinks in his head, knowing that somehow his father will hear him; 

"We both know you'll inevitably catch and kill me, so why not just let me have a moment to feel like it's possible I could escape?"

And that's when I woke up :]
