When creating content online, especially if your chosen topic is niece or strange, like mine often is, it is so easy to fall into the trap of irony. It is so easy to use irony as a shield for your work, and for your emotional attachments to the things you are talking to. No one can call your work silly, or useless or cringe, if you are in on the joke right?
You can even make the main part of your content, your analysis or your deconstruction be about this perceived silliness. But I never liked that approach myself. I believe that in order to truly create, to truly put yourself out there, you have to do so wholeheartedly, and honestly.
Some may find this blogpost silly, or cringe, or dumb, and that's the point, I refuse to apologize for what I create, and who I am, I have done enough in my life already. And guess what, you don't have to apologize either!
