Put the direct image link in the bolded portion (with quotes) and the image should pop up wherever you put the code.
For example, I'll type this: <img src="https://i.postimg.cc/bYtxh6Kp/tumblr-lwzqcqr-Gi-B1r8k88ao1-r1-500-ezgif-com-crop.gif"> which will make this image appear
As you can see, gifs work with this tag, too. As long as you can get a direct image link from an image or gif, the tag should work. Image hosting sites like PostImages let you upload any images/gifs you have and provide you a direct link to them, which you can insert into the tag aforementioned above ^^
