Getting Back Into Utaite

I've been a Vocaloid fan for way too long - probably back since 2014 - so I'm familiar with the English speaking and Japanese speaking fandoms of both. And with both, there's the lovely singers that make covers! And while I haven't been keeping up with my favorite Vocaloid producers for the past year, my interest in covers has been rising as of recent.

As for the ones I've been listening to, it's a mix of classic ones and new ones. Been enjoying more modern singers like Dongdang and Kaku-sanNG and older ones such as Mafumafu and Sekihan. Especially Sekihan. I'm listening to some of his newer stuff on NND right now! lolol

I think I have a type when it comes to seiyuu. I love flexible singers! Specifically ones that fall under the "ryouseirui" (being able to sing in both masculine and feminine voices) label. Three of the ones I just mentioned fall under that, actually! Shows how much I like them.

The main reason why I've been more interested in them more recently is because of the change in the Virtual Singer scene in general with the advent of AI infused tuning and whatnot. It makes things sound smoother, yeah, but if I want to look for non-roboting sounding songs, I prefer going to real life singers. Both are good though as not everybody can sing their own songs.

Enough about me. What's your experience with utaite? Any favorites? Do tell!
