I hate when ppl compare themselves to others (rant)

ENGLISH:

I’ll give an example for this text :3

EX: I ranted to my friend abt smth and they went “oh i’ve had more trauma” or “oh i have it worse” etc….

Like you have NO reason to compare yourself to MY/YOUR rant/trauma whatever it is…cz like honestly it’s messed up. They’d allow the person to rant to them and then turned the situation onto themselves… Honestly its messed up.. Like if your one of those ppl fix the way you comfort ppl cz thats not the way to comfort.

Si hablas espanõl y estás leyendo esto, no dudes en traducir :P

It's not even comfort, nor should it even be considered that. It's narcissistic at its core. Your trauma is your own trauma, everyone experiences trauma differently. Some people are desensitized to fights, while others might remember it forever.

People who compare their trauma to others by saying THEY'VE been through worse don't understand that concept. As I said, everyone experiences trauma differently.

I'll give you an example of what I mean...

Slipping on banana peels is the most cartoony thing ever, but I and someone else I knew experienced it. We both fell directly on our tail bone, I bruised mine though. I'm not worried about that happening again, however, my friend grew this irrational fear of banana peels laying out in the open.
Whenever I talked to them about it to make sure they were ok, they thought THEY went through worse, even had the audacity to cry about breaking their tail bone before walking it off.

It doesn't always come in the form of being terrified, some people, like in your example, treat what they believe is a "worse trauma" as a bragging right. If you're talking about a specific person, maybe look up some signs of NPD and link as many symptoms to them as you can... 'cus flexing about your trauma or negative traits isn't normal.

Real, bragging abt trauma definitely isn’t a flex, i have this friend our classmate had gotten struck by a car and they started crying abt it as in relating their experience to the kid who got hit, she’d mention how she got in a car crash etc…and then decided to start laughing at the kid and said hers was worse… —

We as well made cards for the boy who got struck by a car and during the process of making it she wrote in her card that she’s had it worse and wrote HER story in a card that was meant to COMFORT him cz he’s severely injured (broke both his collarbones and damaged his brain severely and as well is in a coma)

Her response to that was by telling him that he’s overreacting and flexed her trauma on the card which will probably make him feel worse…. Me personally this was an experience of “flexing trauma” cz honestly what she did was messed up.

(This happened earlier today..I told her how wrong it was and she proceeded to vent to me saying how it’s wrong for me to tell her she doesn’t have the right to do that and proceeded to say i was racist towards her— reminder she’s a darker skin color than me)
