That 20 page long comic I did in 2018

Okay story time, 

I remember when I was 11 or so, my mother signed me up for a comic workclass. I was really excited because I wanted to be a comic artist. So, every Saturday for 2 hours I was with a bunch of children and teenagers doing comics panels.

The professor kindly advises us to do a short story with one panel using an old joke, or a song … I’m so good at listening to advice that I did a 20-panel-long comic. It was about a young witch whose name is “Sortilege” (french for spell (damn I’m so good at finding names (absolutely not)). And, dear reader, you have to know that these panels aren’t just for fun but around the month of may the professor collects our panels and does a zine with our works so we can keep a trace of our work, show it to our parents and look at the masterpieces of our classmates. So there was a deadline to hand in our panels. And when the deadline was for next Saturday I had only 5 pages done. 5 pages done and at that time I didn’t plan anything for my story, when I say that, I really mean it because I only had a vague idea of the end of the story but I didn’t even know how many pages it would take me to end this story. At that age, the story just goes with the flow and writes by itself. However I had a week to do it and of course, the quality of the drawing was severely downgraded, especially when I drew in front of the TV. But what could I do? I didn’t have a desk in my room so the only places I could draw were: the floor in my bedroom and the splendid table in the living room which just happened to be in front of the TV which is on every evening. Honestly, the choice wasn’t too hard. 

I eventually met my deadline and I could hand my panels to my professor. Few weeks later I received this year's issue of the zine only to discover that my story was too long and had to be shortened; only 13 pages were published.
