[THIS BLOG CONTAINS REAL INFORMATION THAT HAS OR STILL IS HAPPENING IN MY LIFE, I HOPE ONE DAY THESE EPISODES WILL HELP SOMEONE OUT THERE]
- March, 2013
My name is Yaya, and this is my story about my ongoing encounters with the unfortunate love of my life.
It all started in high school. I was a freshmen getting ready to begin my new school schedule. Back then, in the town that I live in, if you had a mental illness they would put you in special ed classes, where you would learn at a much slower pace, and your class mates will be a mixture of autistic students and children with mental illness. Back in 2013, they divided the two types of kids between two special ed classes. So, when this happened, I was transferring into 15.1 classes that were specifically for kids with a mental illness.
When I was about 11 years old, I was diagnosed with manic depression, aka bipolar depression. This is something I'm still battling till this day. Despite this, I was still excited to move into a new program that was more on my level. Bc of this, my lunch schedule was switched from 5th to 6th period lunch.
That part I was extremely nervous about. That lunch period was known to have a lot of popular students in, and I was def apart of the outcast crowd. I was pretty chubby, quiet, a huge nerd and geek, and most of my friends were just a bunch of weirdos. So I knew it would be a problem to find a good place to sit at lunch.
The 1st day I sat with a bunch of drama club kids, who just seemed extremely fake and melodramatic towards one another. The 2nd day I sat with a bunch of geeks who were playing yu-gi-oh cards the whole time, so I def felt out of place. However, the third day I ran into an old friend from one of my former special ed classes from middle school. She insisted that I sat at her table and at first I hesitated. This is bc I just wanted to reinvent myself, and I didn't want people to continue to see me as the weird art girl.
But nevertheless I agreed and sat at her table. There were three other people at the table. One was an ugly boy that was kind of awkward. The other was a big girl who seemed kinda ghetto. The third one really caught my eye. He was darkskin, had long dreads, muscular and so damn handsome. I sat down he my old friend, lets call her discoball, introduced me to everyone. But the only one I was interested in was the handsome boy across from me.
He looked me in the eyes, and introduced himself as Chocolate. The second I looked into his eyes, it was like love at first sight...
