as the sun dozes off
the moon starts to stir
he's so full of warmth
she's afraid of getting burned
his gaze shines gold
her smile glows silver
he wonders if she's cold
she wonders if he'd kill her
orange skies and tired sighs
starry nights and muffled cries
day in day out walk the line
dusk and dawn they intertwine
he's drunk on moonshine
she high on sunlight
he's seen her dark side
she's felt his fire burn bright
but as the sun starts to stir
the moon dozes off
it was inevitable, the hurt
he will always be careless
she had always been softÂ
the sun, the moon, and their impending doom
