booktok and how it sucks

youve probably heard of booktok; mostly ppl with smut addictions that cant read a book without having at least 300 pages of people doing the shabangbang with each other

now theres nothing wrong with reading a little shabangbang centered content as long as you do it in a healthy dose, thats what AO3 and wattpad is for anyways

But my GOD booktok content is just 90% smut, 8% cringy writing and 2% actual plot

its okay to enjoy a little mindless banging with zero plot but it becomes a actual problem once it becomes all you read, if you cant read a book without complaining about it having "no spice" or being too "bland" i suggest you get help for your smut addiction 

Also, some booktok authors and readers romanticize actually disgusting stuff, including: age gaps so big you could fit a mansion between it, non-con, toxic relationships and so on

Also also alsooo... The community is very rabid (in the non-fun way) they have gone awooga at minors just because they wear helmets

to sum it up: booktok is full of degenerates that romanticize stuff you absolutely shouldnt romanticize
