#goth from hoshi ⭒Β dream journaling and it's role in therapyΒ #goth from hoshi ⭒

dream journaling has aided me a lot through my therapy journey. it's a simple, but profound, activity where you write down your dreams or nightmares, which serves as gateway to deeper self-understanding and emotional processing.

something i have struggled with for a long time is recurrent dreams or nightmares (and flashbacks), so dedicating time to journaling about them helps me reflect on different elements within them and their significance in my emotional journey.Β

my therapist encouraged me to keep track of my dreams to help uncover hidden thoughts, feelings, and patterns; but also to externalize the experiences in my nightmares and work on cognitive restructuring (reframing situations and meanings). so, I write down my dreams or nightmares and discuss them in sessions, where we delve into my subconscious mind and the issues that may be affecting me on a deeper level.

dream journaling can be kind of empowering. it kind of gives you a sense of control/agency (for lack of a better term) over your own inner world, allowing you to explore your dreams in your own way. whether you prefer to write, draw, or use other ways to capture your dreams, the process is about finding what works best for you and allowing your subconscious to speak its truth. i find myself mostly just writing, but at times i am even drawing certain images. usually the way i keep track of my dreams is immediately typing everything i remember onto my notes app, and then writing and reflecting further on paper. i share all those with my therapist prior to my session.

dream journaling as a part of my therapy journey has been really important. i really am a believer of it leading to a deeper understanding of oneself and one's emotions. i think it's worth it to try to write down the things you dream about if you can remember them, you can learn a lot about yourself that way; it could also be kind of fun if you have sillier types of dreams.

anyways, felt like writing a tiny bit about my dream journalling journey and its role in my therapy experience. i pray for our collective healing, and for us all to overcome the traumas and adversities of life πŸ—οΈβ‹†π™šβ‚ŠΛšβŠΉ

yo dreams are actually fuckin awesome. recently ive been so interested in how my dreams always somehow link to my recent thoughts or anxieties, or sometimes even long term anxities. very interesting! and for some reason my nightmares are always most vivid lol.

ive had like 3 lucid dreams and theyve all been super memorable too. writing them down helped me remember my dreams a lot more but i stopped doing that a while ago, maybe i should pick it back up again

you're so right in that it links to/reveals a lot about anxieties and all sorts of things going on in our inner psyche! i relate to the whole nightmares being most vivid part... if you ask me ,i think you should pick it back up again and record what you remember with particularly moving ones. (also, i hope your nightmares lessen Λ™β— Λ™).
