Does Water Testing Matter?

You may be tempted to skip testing your pool water, but we can not stress its significance enough. Water testing is essential for guarding your investment and your family’s health.

Water testing is the first step in ensuring your pool is impeccably balanced. A balanced pool protects your pool outfit and your family against itchy skin and eyes and enables your sanitizer ( and other chemicals) to work as effectively as possible.

It would help if you aimed to test your water at home once a week, using the 6-in-1 Test Tackle to ensure your family is swimming in safe and healthy water. We also recommend getting your water professionally tested at least once a month by your nearest Approved Retailer, which has the rearmost, state-of-the-art water testing outfit, and software.

After swimming pool construction it is also a big task how we can maintain the pool during summer stylishly, below are some terms you should familiarise yourself with and the situations in which they should be used. Detailed descriptions of what each term means are also listed below.

Term How it’s measured

Total Alkalinity Test total alkalinity (TA) first because a correct position will maintain your pH levels. Note that different pool shells bear different TA situations.

Concrete/ tiled/ pebblecrete 80 to 125ppm( ppm = corridor per million)

Other shells( eg fibreglass/ vinyl) 125ppm to 150ppm

Chlorine( Sanitiser)1.5 ppm to3.0 ppm

pH pH is measured on a scale from 1( acidic like bomb juice) to 14( alkaline like cloudy, adulatory water). Ideal range7.4 to7.6

Calcium Hardness Note: different pool shells bear different Calcium Hardness situations.

Concrete/ tiled/ pebblecrete 200ppm to 275ppm

Other shells( eg fibreglass/ vinyl) 175ppm to 225ppm

Cyanuric Acid 30ppm to 50ppm

Total Alkalinity( TA)

TA is the measure of softening minerals present in the water; these minerals are critical to preventing the pH from shifting or bouncing.

pH

pH is a measure of the acidity of the water and is considered the most essential element of water balance.

• If the pH level in your water is too low, it is acidic, causing erosion, itchiness, sore eyes, overactive chlorine, and implicit outfit damage.

• Likewise, a shaft in the pH position indicates your water has become alkaline and may start to pall. Cloudy water leads to a figure-up of scale and erosion of your pool outfit.

• You can lower pH situations by adding Lo’N’Slo ™ and raise them by adding Balance Pak ® 200.

Chlorine

Chlorine is a sanitizer that keeps your pool free of dangerous bacteria. However, the bacteria situation will spike if the chlorine position in your pool drops. We recommend using Smarter Sticks ® for stabilized sanitation to control bacteria. Unlike traditional chlorine sticks, Smarter Sticks contains SilkGuard, a unique cumulative that attaches itself to complex water factors and essence shells, guarding against erosion and staining. However, we recommend Power Chlor ® – it’s easy to use with no need to re-dissolve and also improves sludge effectiveness! Ask your original Approved Retailer about the stylish chlorination result for your pool or gym if your chlorine situation needs a quick boost.

Calcium Hardness

Calcium hardness is the dimension of the vital importance of calcium in the water. It’s necessary for your pool, or else the water will strain calcium from your pool walls, outfit, and, indeed, fingernails! Low calcium situations in your pool water can beget erosion in your pool outfit, and high situations can produce scale. To help with this erosion, we recommend using Balance Pak ® 300 to increase calcium hardness. However, we recommend Scale Inhibitor ™, which prevents redundant calcium from forming scale If you have high calcium situations.

Cyanuric Acid

The part of cyanuric acid is to cover your chlorine from being broken down by the sun( 50 of chlorine is lost to the sun in just 20 twinkles)! Cyanuric acid helps keep your chlorine from breaking down, icing your water so it is sanitized and safe for longer. However, we recommend using Stabiliser ™, If your situation is low.

While it can feel like a drag, regular water testing is essential in keeping your pool safe and healthy for swimming. Rain significantly affects your water balance, so make sure you test your water after any cloudbursts.
