my opinion on jake and johnnie/the fandom itself

jake and johnnie have been an interest of mine since the summer of 2023. I never found them annoying, I kinda just felt like I had somebody to watch for once. But then they began to blow up on tiktok.

It seemed chill at first, but then the younger algorithm started to view their content. yknow how we were once we finally got access to stuff on the internet that our parents wouldn't appreciate us viewing? yeah, it's like that, but for gen alpha. gen alpha just completely views jake and johnnie as objects, and something they can freely sexualize. it's so annoying.

i wouldn't say it's just the younger viewers, it's some ppl my age as well. like at your big age, why do you gotta treat human beings like that? and what irritates me the most is how obsessed they are with their personal lives. like "omg no pookie wookie jake dont smoke cigarettes thats baddd" that man is in his 20s, he can do what he wants. and when ppl associate depression and suicide with johnnie is annoying too. just bc he's emo, doesn't mean you have to refer him to the stereotype.

let me start of with my opinion on jake webber and his fans.

i found jake webber when he was still making videos with sam, colby, and corey. i rlly enjoyed the content they made, and i always thought jake was so out of pocket and hilarious.

i refound his content this past summer, and he's just as funny as he was before. including his style change, i thought it was awesome and didn't think anything of it. 

but ppl are coming at him for being a poser. 

jake is not a poser, he just decided to get more comfortable with his personality. he even wore band shirts in his past vids with sam and colby. so what's this poser controversy abt lol.

and ppl were just calling him annoying for singing songs repeatedly in his tiktoks or just quoting things. it's most likely due to his autism that he recently got diagnosed with. it might be caused by echolalia or vocal stims.

i dont rlly know what else to say but ppl make me angry

next up: johnnie guilbert

johnnie guilbert was a content creator i've been watching since early middle school aka peak pre emo era. (top, mark and jack, the milk fic... etc.)

my digital escape was a thing, but obvi i hate it now and it should have never existed xD

anyways, johnnie guilbert has been making the same content since like, the start of his fame and he's still increasing in views, subscribers, and likes. but there was definitely a spike once he started making content with jake webber.

ppl have been associating johnnie with stereotypes bc the making fun of emos have peaked, and everybody pretty much knows the stereotypes. johnnie has been getting fanfics written abt him, self harming, committing suicide, panic attacks, etc. 

he has never consented to any of these things to be written or said about him, bc he is a person that went through these things. 

anyways the fans suck
