Oish writing is hard

I have been wanting to start writing longer for stories for like ever but jeez is that shit hard. I'm currently working on a super ambitious DHMIS fic and god ive only gotten like four thousand words in over a month or two.

My procrastination and overindulgence in constantly starting new projects and jumping between old ones are my biggest obstacles but also Im constantly fuckin second guessing my ability to write things. Ive never seriously written fanfic before and im worried that I won't be able to make these characters feel like themselves when in reality the characters from DHMIS (aside from the main trio) have pretty open characterization because they are more plot devices for the story/ message.

I'm hoping to get the first chapter of the fic done by the end of the month, and Im going to try and start working on it more consistently. Hell maybe ill post a link to it here.
