I've decided that I want to change something in my life. Think with me, in a few years, what will you say that you did during your (in my case) teenage years? Rot in bed? Spent hours mindlessly scrolling on your phone?
I want to be able to enjoy and live my life as I should be.
Now, since this is my first actual entry, hi! I'm Oyamo, also known as Oya, I'm 16 years old, I'm from Portugal and I'm on my second year of Code Course (11th grade).
It's been a week since I came back to school after Easter break, don't get me wrong, last week was amazing. I had a lot of fun, but on the weekend I realise I spent most of it mindlessly scrolling for hours and that made me very self concious. So I decided to make a little list of things I want to start and stop doing with the objective of getting a new lifestyle and hopefully fix my mental health too.Today it actually started. I wanted to start in the beggining of the week but I couldn't because of stress, but it's better to start now then to stall for another week and never really doing it.
Morning Routine ₊˚⊹♡
I woke up at 6.30AM. I usually have alarms from 6:20 to 7:00, because I would always hit the snooze button, but this time i actually woke up. The moment the alarm played, I turned the lights on. Having lights makes me activate more so I'm less tempted to sleep more.
Spending too much time on my phone in the morning is a habit that I wanted to stop but sadly I couldn't control it and ended up using it, but before it used to 30min and today was only 10min! It's important to be proud of the process. You're not going to get everything perfect instantly, so don't give up.
I made a little playlist to play in the morning to work the same way as the lights did. Music has always been very important in my life, and listening to it in the morning keeps me more motivated to start the day.
Also, I put a screen time reminder on some apps like Tiktok so I don't get lost scrolling. I added a reminder every 10 minutes!
I got up at at 6:50. I got dressed up, brushed my hair, my teeth and did my make up. It was so peaceful to do it with no worries. I felt way more confident and comfortable, there was no rush on doing anything so everything went as planned.
Sadly I forgot to take a photo of my outfit, but I got this jirai kei shirt recently and it's so cute! I like feeling like a doll and this shirt doesn't fail me in that hhehe :3 I ALWAYS wear thigh highs but I decided to change a bit and not wear them today... until I realised that I was wearing different socks- So I had to throw in some leg warmers to cover it.I wanted to start eating breakfast. I started to loose that habit around 5th grade, but I really want to be more healthy, eating is important for our body to get energy, specially in the morning. Sadly I still didn't have time to eat, I'll try to organize my time a bit better tomorrow.
Since waking up late became a habit, it also became part of my routine to run to catch my bus (and loose it most of the times). The bus passes through the bus stop at 7:48 (I always left my house at 7:47 so... imagine), i would always enter it almost fainthing.
BUT this time I left at 7:43, I wentjust chilling and even got to wait a bit for it to arrive.
During School ₊˚⊹♡
The only thing I planned to change in my school day is to spend a bit less time on the phone and try to socialise more. Don't get me wrong, I talk a lot with my friends but I always used the phone while doing so because it made me feel more safe, but it's something I want to slowly stop doing.
Other thing is eating lunch. I used to never eat lunch, but i started cooking for my boyfriend everyday so I end up cooking for me too and that encourage me to eat.
I still didn't think of something I could do for my after school routine, feel free to give ideas!
