on seasonal rewatches

now that it's been getting colder over here, i've come down with the seasonal urge of rewatching avatar the last airbender... it's been like this every year since i first watched it all the way back in 2020. the weather cools down and atla pops into my mind.

realising this'd be the fourth time i watched the show, i thought of other shows i do the same with. there are four shows i apparently can't go a year without watching:

1. atla

2. the good place

3. grey's anatomy

4. one day at a time

grey's anatomy is kind of the odd one out, because i've never really finished it in any of my rewatches (or my original watch, for that matter, which started and stopped in 2019, on season 15). i always watch it until season ten. i love cristina. that's all i'm gonna say about that.

now, i don't think any of these are tied to a specific type of weather besides atla. i remember watching it the first time over 2020's winter holidays in quarantine, which is why i just relate the cold weather to the show.

i think there's one other show that will be making this list pretty soon; or, well, it has probably already made it, considering i've watched it three times in one year; and that is gilmore girls. i love gilmore girls. or, i should say, i love the first four seasons of gilmore girls, because i haven't watched anymore of it after that. i don't know why. well yes actually i do know why. i stop liking rory very much. i wear thin of her. and of jess. he tires me out. it's too much! i cant take it. why can't things be simple, like they were in the beginning? i hate change. idc if it makes me stupid or less of an objective consumer, but i hate it.

well i think that's enough. i'll enjoy atla for the next couple of days until i inevitably get bored of it a few episodes before the ending and leave it unfinished, as i always do. yk i have never watched the final two episodes of hunter x hunter? and i watched that three years ago! crazy.

ps: what shows or anime or movies or books do you rewatch/reread cyclically like this? i wanna know im not the only one who does it...
