Sometimes its best to keep pushing yourself through pain to get the most of your time during some activities. But it's also important to know when it's time to stop and take a break.
This weekend I ended up ripping both one of my knuckles on the palm side as well as my foot. With the foot bleeding pretty badly. I had noticed this during my sparring that session but I pretended it didn't exist so I could keep going as much as possible.
The result? I've probably made myself have to go through pain much more longer than I wanted to, doubly so since I've injured both my power hand and foot making it even tougher to recover and enjoy kendo for the healing period.
Whilst this is obvious advice, I think it's sometimes great to actually remind yourself or others of that, cause I think it's easy to ignore till it gets too much, and this is especially true of people who make stuff like this their career and put pretty much their entire life into it only for it to end cause of a refusal to back down for even a minute.
