today i had the unfortunate experience of getting messaged by another creep on this website.. i didn't look at their profile before accepting their follow request last night and it led to an uncomfortable interaction.

people online don't really gaf about boundaries. predators and harassers are never an exception!!!

during my conversation with this asshole, i began browsing his profile. just because he claimed to be 18 does not mean that the way he's acting is okay.

when i was looking through his followers, i found some pretty gross age gaps... one person (see above) was as young as THIRTEEN.

***regardless of the platform you're on, encountering people like this is inevitable; especially in more niche communities like spacehey.***

however, that doesn't mean there's nothing you can do about it!

i reported this account, provided the basic and important details, and it was taken down in ~15 minutes.

luckily enough, the admin team is pretty on top of their shit. i'm not saying that the site doesn't have its problems, but in my experience they're always pretty quick to act on serious stuff like this. they got rid of the influx of gore pages and 4chan raiders etc. fast-- it's clear they care about this stuff as much as we do.

tldr: DO YOUR PART! REPORT THESE PEOPLE! IT LITERALLY TAKES LIKE 2 MINUTES AND IT PROTECTS THE PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY SPACEHEY'S YOUNGER DEMOGRAPHIC
