Blog || eclipse 2024

On the 8th, I was fortunate enough to visit my long-time friend Bulma to view the total solar eclipse! The drive was long but I was brave about it, it's not every day I get to see my friends in person, or a solar eclipse.

I highly recommend viewing an eclipse if you haven't before. They don't last long, but experiencing the weird atmosphere and being able to look directly at the sun without hurting yourself is worth it.

The darkness during an eclipse isn't as dark as a regular night, it looks like there's an approaching dawn coming from all directions. Also, if you watched the eclipse or saw pictures of it, you might've noticed a red dot, this was a solar prominence aka plasma bursting out from the surface of the sun. I didn't see them during the last eclipse (2017) I saw, so I consider them a fun little bonus.

The next total eclipse will be in 2026 in Europe, so unless my income rises dramatically I probably won't be able to see it. 😿
