"I love emo/goth girls!" Do they?

Most of my FYP on tiktok consists of alternative people, emos, goths, people who don't latch onto a specific subculture and just refer to themselves as alt, etc. While that has blessed me with the opportunity to watch some really cool GRWMS and expand my music tastes, I've unfortunately come across.. odd.. videos of "basic" (non-alternative) boys/men, blabbering on about loving goth/emo chicks only to pull up a picture of a random egirl.. I have NOTHING against egirls, but it's so funny to me that people will fetishize emo/goth chicks, but will make fun people who dress trad-goth, or people who dress traditionally emo. Now, before you pull out your pitchforks.. I know that you don't have to dress gothic to be goth, and goth is a music based subculture.. the concept same goes for emo. Someone who looks like an egirl could listen to bauhaus and rosegarden funeral party all the time, and is a goth loving queen. However, it's just a pet-peeve of mine when they drool over girls who do not dress goth (trad goth, romantic goth, etc) or emo in anyway and mislabel them as goth/emo.. then go make fun of.. goths and emo..??? Make it make sense. Anyways, rant over.
