I rewatched Pom Poko with some friends yesterday and it used to be one of my favourite movies when i was super young lol (i watched the dub)
somehow 6 year old me did not notice all the tanuki deaths and deforestation stuff happening
its still one of my favourite movies but i appreciate it for different reason now compared to when i was young.
the animation is top tier (its Ghibli lol so thats a given) especially the yokai parade section
Bunta and Tamasaburo always make me feel kind of sad
Bunta went on a journey only to come back and find his entire life destroyed and Tamasaburo had to leave his whole family in ShikokuÂ
my favourite characters were probably Osho, Oroku and Kincho
its also kind of funny because Kincho looks like my old scout leader lol

I haven't heard of this film before, it seems like an interesting watch. Thanks for bringing it up, I'll be sure to check it out.
