[09APR24] STAR WARS PT2????

okay so to catch you up here's part 1. its not really important if you just want to read this entry but in case you want context, there it is :P

so we finished watching all the movies from the first two trilogies. I can officially say i've seen "all" of star wars. this all started because i wanted to watch one (1) star wars movie thinking i wouldnt be that interested, but after watching, how many hours? 12+ hours of star wars?? apparently that was not enough. my friend said they didnt want to watch the disney trilogy but after i started watching it on my own and had to rant to them about it, they joined me anyway. so now weve watched all nine of the main movies, and if we watch more well probably move on to the clone wars series because i remember watching it back when it was airing on telly.

so my thoughts... uhhh... theres a lot (and this is going to be a lot of nitpicking because thats all im good at but i swear overall i really enjoyed them, plz dont hate me for this ;-;) (also spoilers ahead!!)

the first movie had really weird pacing. the race took so long i swear that was all there was to that movie. the second and third movies were good, anakin was so annoying but that was literally the point so ill give it a pass. movies 4-6 i barely remember because of the weird order we watched them in. i think the thing that stood out to me from them was in the last one when luke's telling leia that theyre siblings and leia's like "ive always known" like HUH???? YOU KISSED HIM??? WOT??? also luke didnt even kill whatshisface, darth vader did (anakin still the chosen one cannon confirmed??!?!?) maybe that was the point and im just dumb but anyway.

the third trilogy... oh boy the third trilogy... in the first two trilogies, if i picked up on a nitpick i could usually reason my way out of it, but the third trilogy, so far, so many of my nitpicks have felt completely justified. i think my biggest issue was the whole giving life to other things/people??? literally the whole message of the third movie was that you cant mess with life and death and now all of a sudden we can just heal people and save their life with the force???? HUH??? also stormtroopers no longer being clones was such a downgrade, im sorry, i do not like it. c-3po loosing his memories? dumb. firstly could they not just have backed up his memories somewhere else while they made him translate?? and then they go ahead and let r2 give them back to him later anyway????

theres so much more i could complain about but i do not have the energy to articulate it all. overall a solid like 9/10, will absolutely be watching again sometime. and just with the last entry please leave your unhinged star wars rants in the comments i would love to hear them!
