daily (or however often) bible verse day 1

i wanna start doing this coz i wanna spread the good word so jaa, obv dont feel forced to be here, if you are a believer of Christ or just wanna hear some words from the bible or whatevs, u are welcome!!

I wanna start with my fav verse...... psalm 73:26

"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever"

this is in king james text btw

the whole chapter 73 in psalms talks about what and where we would be without God in our lives.

This part of psalms was written by an old prophet Asaph during the time King David ruled israel. Despite Asaph preaching Gods wisdom, he still questioned and doubted his faith.

Asaph watched sinners and people with low faith enjoying so much. He wondered why people who dont believe or live by Gods greatness have such a fulfilling and prosperous life. Shouldnt they get what they deserve for being such horrible people?

This thought is what lead him to disbelief.

This is what this chapter is about.

psalms 73:6 "Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment"

a chain... meaning their jewels. garment.... meaning their look, what they are seen as.

everyone knows their wrongdoings, they dont have a single care in the world because they are still rich and still healthy, theyre still doing very well.

but these people are vain, and they do not know or understand the greatness of letting go of their pride and vanity to and for God.

thinking and putting focus on bad people doing bad things, and his jealousy that they got good rewards for it, turned him bitter and further from God. it made him angry and confused.

psalm 73:28 "But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works."

Asaph grew to understand that those people would have their consequence, and to have faith in Gods individuals and the stories he had for them.

which is where i come back to

psalm 73:26 "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever"

God understands we are human. we are bad people. we do bad things. we feel sad, we feel angry, we feel resent, we feel jealousy, we feel pride, we feel so many of these emotions that are considered sins.

Whether you are like Asaph, or the people he is talking about, God loves you and is always forgiving.

he knows you always fail him, we have thoughts, we do wrong things, we say bad things

but at the end of the day, he made us and he is always around us.

he is what drives us. without God there is no life at all.

so.. naturally we do bad things, we speak profanities aand we take things for granted.

we are humans

and at the end of the day, we have to collect ourselves together and remember why we are here

love yous have the best day ever
