Okay, this is going to be a big one (I think).
Happy April and International Asexuality Day! I'm on the ace spectrum and it's nice to see the flag flying everywhere.
This week I had three tests on Wednesday. It was quite a nightmare! Thankfully that shouldn't happen again this semester. In fact, the semester is about to end! I have a little less than four weeks left until my freshman year concludes. I was super excited at first, but now I feel unprepared. I'm ready to leave my dorm and have my own guaranteed personal space back. On the other hand, I don't feel prepared for my exams and it feels like work is always looming over my head. Thankfully this coming week should be a bit more relaxed (test-wise). I will have more things to worry about soon.
Once again I'm focusing more on my feelings rather than what I did this week. Lately, I've been feeling really immature and feel quite behind in life compared to my peers. I feel out of the loop, slow, and quiet. I cried during one of my exams on Wednesday. Many of my classmates have internships (which I'm jealous of, of course). I want to grow up, but I'm not entirely sure how. Hopefully, I can turn myself around this summer.
Okay, on the bright side, the weather has been amazing lately. Campus is just absolutely beautiful! Also, I'm going to a dance tonight with a few friends and I hope to have fun.
Alright, now it's true rant time. I want to talk about design, specifically console design. Nothing has any personality anymore! Even though I wasn't really around for the original Xbox era, I still have a fondness for it. Its alien feel and sci-fi-inspired UI are breathtaking and refreshing. I just wish we would go back to giving tech more personality. I understand that as tech became more integrated it made no sense to continue with alien aesthetics, but then there's the Wii. It has its own music and ambiance, which is a lot more "consumer friendly". The Wii is probably the perfect balance between futuristic, but friendly and easy to use. Tech should be fun and cool, especially if it is for entertainment. If anything, I would really like to be a UI/UX designer or developer and possibly bring some semblance of this trend back.
Alright, rant over. Next week I'll probably talk about old electronic music and instruments and why they sound better.
Tchau,
