A bunch of websites I've collected that focus on New Order, Joy Division, Electronic, etc.
Aug 27 2024 - Added Monaco website and AOTY.
Nov 13 2024 - midi website went down, link is now a wayback one.
Last updated Dec 3 2024 - Added new-order.net gigology.
New Order
neworder.com - New Order's official website. The website's been remodeled a few times. The blog used to be called newordernow but it isn't anymore so like, there's some fidgetiness around it. You get used to it.
neworderonline.com - An officially endorsed fansite which also hosts forums I think. It's a little bit (a lot actually) very hard to navigate and sometimes there's just straight up misinfo but is still very solid.
worldinmotion.net - A very very good source for newer fans. A good amount of it is left to be forever unfinished and sometimes it links to pages that don't exist but in general this website is chock full of stuff that can keep newbies busy for hours on end. Updated up to Waiting For The Sirens' Call.
wim's newsroom - While the buttons stop at 2005, the url can be edited to go all the way up to 2009. This is a very good source for 1998-2009 era things because a good amount of the news sourced just doesn't exist online anymore
(archive dot org) Ceremony fan website - A site than fans in the 90s used a lot. Keep in mind you might have to do some time hopping to get to certain pages. Very fun to just look at the old html on.
(archive dot org) A Neworder Webpage - I have not spent much time looking at this one. When you click on links they turn red.
new-order.net - I can only assume who owns this website. This website doesn't link most of its pages but you will find them when, like, googling for new order things. Despite the gigology redirecting you to a google doc, all of the original gigology pages still exist, you just gotta find them.
new-order.net's gigology - Contains gig information and transcribed ad-libs. Edit the URL to see the year you wish. Goes from 80 to 89. then 93 and 98. 01 and 02. 05 and 06. 11 and 12.
New Order sites that aren't sources.
Ceremony Digest - An old mailing list/newsgroup/email forum dedicated to New Order written and archived entirely in plaintext, spanning from 1989 to 2005, though it may have been around for a little while before the former year.
newordertracks - A Wordpress blog about one guy's opinions on all the New Order songs. Eventually got published as a book.
(archive dot org) New Order Midi Files - Has not been updated since 2009 and has no Sirens' Call songs. Was still online up until at least April of 2024.
New Order song sorter - A tool to help find your favorite New Order song!
NeWOrdeR - ???
Other
JOY DIVISION
joydiv.org - Still being updated!
Interzonejoy - ???
ELECTRONIC
Feeleverybeat - Now defunct and it's archived a little funny so you'll probably have to do some url editing shenanigans and time jumps if you're gonna explore the whole site. A very robust site containing
Marrchives - Johnny Marr magazine archives. About a dozen of these are about Electronic in super high quality.
THE OTHER TWO
theothertwo2002 - ???
MONACO
(archive dot org) monaco.uk.net - Monaco's official website which I think was run by fans anyway.
General
Setlist.fm NO / JD / Electronic / Bad Lieutenant / Hooky solo / Revenge / Monaco / Freebass (kinda empty) / Light / Shadowparty / Sea Fever (will add latter two links later) - A setlist wiki with a good amount of stats about concerts. The site has a little bit of a temp-memory problem so like if you keep it on for more than an hour just refresh before you click anything so that it doesn't boot you to the front page. (02 aren't listed here because they never performed live... well, theyve done DJ sets but I dont think those are on this website.)
Allmusic NO / JD / Electronic / O2 / Bad Lieutenant / Revenge / Monaco / Freebass / Light / Shadowparty / Sea Fever - (you can find other things yourself.) A website dedicated to allll the music! More so about reviews. I post reviews on it. It's fun. But the website does kinda suck.
Album of the Year NO / JD / Electronic / O2 / Bad Lieutenant / Revenge / Monaco / Freebass / Light / Shadowparty / Sea Fever - A website specifically dedicated to reviewing music.
Discogs NO / JD / Electronic / O2 / Bad Lieutenant / Revenge / Monaco / Freebass / Light / Shadowparty / Sea Fever - A website where you can chart and sell physical albums and singles and stuff you own. Most people probably know about this already I just feel the need to put it here.
MDMArchive NO / JD / Electronic / O2 / Bad Lieutenant / Revenge / Monaco / Freebass / Light / Bernard / Hooky / Ian / Steve / Gillian / Tom / HaƧ / Factory - The Manchester Digital Music Archive. A website with toooooonnnsss of obscure stuff. And no, as of now, nobody has tagged anything with Phil.
