☆ Gyaru Fashion: A Styling Guide ☆

Shirts

★ In Gyaru fashion, leopard print tank tops are a must. Especially ones that have lace and a ribbon in the middle. The lace and ribbon usually should be the same color. Another very common shirt in Gyaru fashion would be collared shirts! Collared shirts with big bows (most commonly red) and an oversized/baggy cardigan. The cardigan can be beige, navy blue, pink, or black! I’ll explain more possible accessories with these options in a sec! Another common shirt in Gyaru fashion is long sleeved shirts that have fur on the collar and bottom of the sleeves. These shirts typically have buttons and are sort of like v necks (due to the cut of the shirt in the front).

Bottoms

★ In Gyaru fashion, mini skirts are a must have!! denim mini skirts, plaid mini skirts, etc. For denim mini skirts, it’s quite common to pair these bottoms with a belt. Some people like to use a ribbon as a belt, some like to use rhinestone belts of many different colors like white, pink, black, etc! Some people also like to attach keychains on their belts! If you’re not too comfortable wearing skirts, shorts are also really cute in Gyaru fashion! I will say, I don’t see shorts as often as I  see skirts in Gyaru Fashion, however, they are still super cute bottoms!! I’ve seen some Gyaru outfits where they pair denim shorts or just normal black shorts with big fluffy leg warmers or big boots. Some other bottoms in Gyaru fashion  are bell bottoms, flared jeans, and low waisted jeans!! These are also super cute and go with a lot!

Accessories

★One of the most common accessories in Gyaru fashion are leg warmers! Leg warmers are a must! Leg warmers or really loose socks are great to pair with a mini skirt or shorts! For Gyaru fashion, It’s quite common to accessorize a lot. A lot of rings, necklaces, bracelets, bows, etc. A big pearl necklace or choker is a good piece of jewelry that could help add onto your gyaru outfit! Especially a big pearl necklace or choker that has a bow on it<3 For gyaru accessories, I’d say do whatever you want and feel comfortable with! Whatever you think adds onto your outfit :) it’s good to experiment and try new things! I’d recommend that for Gyaru fashion, try getting some hello kitty themed jewelry pieces and clothing! Hello kitty things are always a good add on to an outfit ^_^ flower clips in the hair are also really cute too! A lot of gyarus I see on the internet have belly button and ear piercings, however if you don’t feel comfortable with getting anything pierced that’s totally okay!! Big fluffy hats or bedazzled head phones are also a great accessory to help add onto your outfit ! ! Sunglasses for summer Gyaru outfits are soooo adorbs! Hair clips that have little characters/animals on them are a really good add on too!! Bows, neck ties, bead bracelets, Sanrio accessories, long colorful painted nails!

Unfortunately, Gyaru style is sort of a dead fashion style so it’s harder to find clothing for it. But theres still some shops that carry Gyaru clothing/accessories! <3
